Disentanglement / Re-Embodiment is a full-color monograph by artist, activist, and filmmakerJill Goldman, capturing five years of bold, deeply embodied work at the edge of art and politics. Developed between 2020 and 2025, the project spans video, performance, photography, installation, and political research, unfolding in a single, cohesive publication that investigates how we live inside of—and push back against— patriarchal power and environmental crisis.
The book weaves over 200 images—performance documentation, film stills, research ephemera, and installation views. The content centers on ten performance works, staged internationally by Goldman and collaborators in the past five years. The book features essays and interview extracts with feminist scholars and public figures contextualizing Goldman’s inquiry within broader conversations on global gender equality, abolitionism, and spirituality, including Asti Hustvedt, Alex A. Jones, Amy Ziering, Yasmeen Hassan, Sumaya Awad, Catherine Coleman Flowers, Nina Menkes, Ruchira Gupta & Tanya Selvaratnam
